Fun Figures Return to Hartland Carnival for 2026!

Hartland Carnival is delighted to announce the return of our popular Fun Figures Competition for 2026 — and this year’s theme is:

Enid Blyton Characters!

We are inviting residents across the Parish of Hartland to get creative and bring some classic characters to life outside their homes, gardens or businesses during Carnival Week.

From Noddy and Big Ears to The Famous Five, Secret Seven and The Faraway Tree, we can’t wait to see the village filled with colourful, imaginative and fun displays for everyone to enjoy.

Fun Figures can be handmade from almost anything — wood, straw, fabric, recycled materials, painted boards, scarecrows or completely original creations. The only limit is your imagination!

Entries should be positioned on or next to your property and clearly visible from the road or public pathway so our judges can spot them easily.

The competition is open to anyone living within the Parish of Hartland and is all about community spirit, creativity and having fun together during Carnival Week.

So gather your ideas, raid the craft cupboard and start planning your Enid Blyton masterpiece!
